A Willis Collision specialty

Hybrid & EV collision repair in Des Moines.

We're the central Iowa collision shop that's actually fixing LYRIQs, Escalade IQs, and Lexus hybrids on a regular basis. High-voltage trained technicians, in-house ADAS recalibration, and certified service techs at the matching Willis dealership next door when the repair runs deep.

What we've actually repaired.

The list of electrified vehicles coming through our Des Moines shop tracks closely with what the Willis dealership group sells across the street. We've worked on:

  • Cadillac LYRIQ — multiple repairs to date, ranging from cosmetic panel work to ADAS recalibration after collision
  • Cadillac Escalade IQ — early adopters of GM's flagship EV; we've handled several through the shop
  • Lexus hybrids — RX, NX, ES, and the full hybrid lineup are routine for us through our Lexus OEM certification
  • Nissan Pathfinder / Rogue Hybrid and Ariya EV — covered by our Nissan/INFINITI certification
  • Chevrolet hybrid and EV models — covered by our GM certification
  • Honda hybrids — covered by our Honda certification
  • Volvo hybrids and Recharge models — covered by our Volvo certification

For makes we don't hold a direct OEM certification on, we still handle the collision repair work the same way we'd handle any other vehicle — to factory specification, with proper materials, and with ADAS sensors fully recalibrated before the car goes back to its owner.

The advantage of being next door to the dealership.

Most independent collision shops in Iowa can't service the deepest parts of an EV repair — battery removal, high-voltage system diagnostics, manufacturer-specific drivetrain procedures. When we hit that boundary, we don't have to send your car to a third-party service center an hour away.

Our Des Moines collision shop is on the same property as Willis Automotive, where the manufacturer-certified service teams for Cadillac, Chevrolet, Lexus, INFINITI, Nissan, Volvo, MINI, Land Rover, and Jaguar all work. Deep electric and hybrid work that goes beyond collision panel-and-paint gets coordinated directly with the right OEM service department, on-site, with no logistical handoffs between facilities.

That's the practical reason we can say yes when someone asks if we'll take their LYRIQ or Escalade IQ after a collision — not because we pretend the repair is easy, but because the resources to do it right are all on one property.

Common questions.

Does Willis Collision repair hybrid and electric vehicles?

Yes. Our Des Moines shop sees a steady flow of hybrid and electric vehicles through collision repair, including Cadillac LYRIQ, Cadillac Escalade IQ, Lexus hybrids across the lineup, and the hybrid and electric models from the other brands the Willis dealership group sells. Our collision technicians carry high-voltage and hybrid training, ADAS sensor recalibration is handled in-house at our Des Moines location, and for deeper high-voltage or battery-system work we coordinate directly with the manufacturer-certified service department at the matching Willis dealership next door.

Where can I get a Cadillac LYRIQ or Escalade IQ repaired after an accident in Iowa?

Willis Collision in Des Moines is GM-certified for collision work including Cadillac, and we've repaired several LYRIQs and a handful of Escalade IQs to date. For collision panel work, paint, and ADAS recalibration on these vehicles, we handle the repair in-house at 2121 NW 100th Street, Des Moines. For deeper high-voltage battery or drivetrain repairs, we coordinate directly with the certified service technicians at Willis Cadillac next door — most independent body shops in Iowa can't offer that coordination on-site.

Is ADAS recalibration on a hybrid or EV different from a gas vehicle?

No. ADAS sensor recalibration on a hybrid or EV follows the same in-house process we use for any modern vehicle in our OEM-certified makes. The high-voltage powertrain is independent of the lane-keeping cameras, radar, and parking sensors that ADAS calibration covers.

Why use a certified collision shop for an electric vehicle?

EVs and hybrids carry high-voltage systems that require trained handling, and they typically have a denser ADAS sensor package than the same model in a gas configuration. A non-certified shop without high-voltage training risks both the technician's safety and the vehicle's factory warranty. Insurance carriers also increasingly require OEM-certified shops for newer EVs to honor the claim at the full repair amount.
